Reflective Post (4/3/15)

For the past few weeks, the class has been discussing about the final topic. We had three narrowed-down ideas: World Changing Songs, Battle of the Bands, and Acting Music Videos. We had difficulties choosing the final topic because the votes were really nearly the same for each one. Battle of the Bands had the least votes, so it was crossed out from the list. Then I had the idea to merge the idea World Changing Songs and Acting Music Videos (so we do the music of world changing songs). A lot of people agreed but a lot of people disagreed as well. We had to vote again. It took a long time to decide, we even had the idea to present the ideas again. But we didn't do that because it will take a long time and we are already behind from our time table.

The final decision was to act out the music videos. The guys from the group managed to persuade most of us. Even though there were still some people who chose the 'World Changing Songs', there were a lot more people who voted for the Acting Music Videos. We started to brainstorm some songs/music videos. We even had homework to research five potential music videos to act out. Yesterday's lesson, we listed down all our ideas on the whiteboard. We only came out with 33 ideas, but they were all good ones. Then, we voted. The song/music video that had more than 8 votes stayed on the list.

These were the top voted songs/music videos:
  • Uptown Funk- Mark Ronson ft. Bruno Mars
  • U Can't Touch This- MC Hammer
  • Bohemian Rhapsody- Queen
  • Beat It- Michael Jackson
  • Shower- Becky G.
  • Smooth Criminal- Michael Jackson
  • Stay High- Tough Love
So far, I think the class has progressed a little, even though it was quite a slow progress. We are also behind the time table by a week, but it's okay because at least we got a few done. We still haven't decided on the music video that will be used in the final performance, how they are connected, and others.
